What is the purpose of the Alone with God Silent Retreat and what will we be doing?
The purpose of the retreat is to provide a time to be set apart from your everyday life, to focus on your relationship with Jesus, and to be strengthened in your faith and love for Him. Some of the activities include Eucharistic Adoration, Spiritual Direction, daily Mass, Sacrament of Reconciliation, and time for rest and reflection.
How “Silent” is this Retreat?
Silence begins immediately following the opening retreat conference on Thursday evening and will end after Sunday mass. During the retreat there is no talking outside of Mass, vocal prayers, confession and spiritual guidance.
What is the schedule on Thursday?
Registration is 3:00 pm to 4:45 pm. Informal dinner starts at 5:00pm and the opening retreat conference will begin at 6:45pm followed by a Eucharistic Adoration with the Sacrament of Reconciliation avaialable.
What time does the retreat end on Sunday?
The retreat concludes at approximately 12:00 NOON after Brunch. Brunch immediately follows 9:30am Mass.
What do we do for meals?
All meals will be provided. This includes breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks & beverages.
What kind of food will be available?
For breakfast we’ll have food such as eggs, cereal, yogurt, fruit, and bagels. For lunch –salad, sandwiches or soup, chips, fruit. Dinner –pasta, salad, fruit, beef or chicken, etc. Included each day are snacks as well and various desserts and hot/cold drinks.
What if I have food allergies? Will my meals still be provided?
We will do our best to accommodate your dietary needs. If you have specific dietary needs, these must be indicated on your registration form. The registration team will notify you if we are unable to accommodate your needs in which case you would be asked to bring your own meals, snacks, etc. If you have unusual dietary restrictions then we may not be able to satisfy your needs. Where will we be staying?
You will be staying in one of our retreat rooms here on the grounds. There will be common bathrooms down or across the hall and it is therefore advisable to bring easily portable toiletries and slippers.
Is there transportation for those who are flying in?
Yes, a shuttle service will be available for a $10 fee. Arrival pick-up will be at 3:00pm on Thursday. Departure drop-off will leave Catholic Familyland on Sunday at 12:30pm and arrive at the airport at approximately 1:30pm.
Is there transportation provided while on the retreat grounds?
No, you will need to walk or drive your car while for getting around the retreat grounds and since a number of the retreat rooms are located at a distance from the main conference location it is advisable that you bring your car. If you are car-pooling or flying to the retreat and won’t have transportation here on the retreat grounds, please let us know upon registering and we will do our best accommodate you.
How much does the Retreat cost and what is included?
Registration is $289.
What is included?
This includes 8 meals, snacks and beverages, 3 nights lodging, linens (including towels), and all retreat materials (including a notebook and pen).

Is there Spiritual Direction while on retreat?
Yes, Spiritual Direction is available with one of our AFC chaplains and/or with other qualified guest presenters. There will be sign-up sheets available for Spiritual Direction upon arrival.
