Dear AFC Family,

A blessed Easter to you and your loved ones!

“Be not afraid.” These words of our Lord, echoed so often by Pope St. John Paul II, continue to inspire and direct us, especially in these uncertain times. As we approach the celebration of His Divine Mercy, let us answer Jesus’ call to us to trust and have courage. “Those who are tempted by anxiety and desperation turn to you, O Christ, our life and our guide, to hear the proclamation of the hope that does not disappoint” (cf. Easter 2004 Address, Pope John Paul II, Vatican).

Here at Catholic Familyland®, our Catholic Corps and staff are praying daily for your family. We are here to support you. Please contact us with any prayer intentions. We would love to pray for you.

Our staff is moving ahead in anticipation that the Holy Family will intercede for us and we will be able to serve families as usual. Registration for our Holy Family Fests continues, and we’re looking forward to seeing you again this summer. However, if for some reason we cannot gather here at Catholic Familyland® in our expansive outdoor facilities, we will be creative. We will use our staff and summer missionaries to bring families together in creative ways to support each other and maintain our connection with each family.

I have been blessed to meet many of you since I started the AFC Family Tour in November, which unfortunately was cut short due to COVID-19. I am inspired when I hear stories of individual and family conversions that have happened through the AFC. This Apostolate not only changes lives, but it transforms families. These transformed families share story after story of how they learned Family Consecration and became “families for others”. This renews my passion to fill every cabin and room at our events. Every empty cabin or room represents a family or person that has missed the opportunity to experience other supportive families and to learn how to live the AFC Way of Life.

On Wednesday, April 22, I will be giving a live update with Q&A on the AFC Facebook page. I invite you to join this session and bring your questions, ideas, and input on how best to share the AFC’s mission with others. You can tune in at 7:00 p.m. (EDT) at this link: www.Facebook.com/familyconsecration. The update will be followed by the Family Rosary, led by the Catholic Corps.

Please continue to pray for our staff and all of the AFC families. I ask you to be ambassadors for our work. Be a St. Andrew! Just like St. Andrew brought his brother Peter to meet Jesus, you can bring others to encounter the Holy Family in a new and profound way. We have such a great gift that has been given to us in the AFC, and you are a shareholder. We are committed to continue to serve your family to become a holy family, along with all of those that you bring to us.

May Our Savior grace all of us with the manifold blessings of His resurrection and the protection of His glorious wounds, through the intercession of Our Lady and St. Joseph. May His Divine Mercy overshadow us and the whole world for our salvation and His greater glory. Jesus, we trust in You!

United in the Holy Family,

Surprised By My Teens!

This was our first week-long Holy Family Fest with 7 children ranging from 17 years to 8 months old. Everyone was so friendly. The range of activities was wonderful and we appreciated the safe fun atmosphere. Everyone had a great time! When we were driving away our 5 and 8 year olds begged us to come back next year, followed by a plea from the teenagers, "We HAVE to come back next year!" To get this reaction from teenagers who knew no one when we arrived is amazing to hear as a parent—you have definitely earned 5 stars!! Thank you for a wonderful family building week! We look forward to coming back again next year!— Andrea
