A featured speaker at our 2016 Holy Family Fests was Deacon Alex Jones, a former Pentecostal minister who became Catholic and later was ordained a deacon. In his testimony, Deacon Jones shared that God called him to join the Catholic Church, even though it would cost him a steep price. Deacon Jones had to decide whether to fully follow Christ or to remain where he was. He chose to risk it all.
“I gave up my ministry as a pastor, gave up my beautiful church, gave up my livelihood, gave up my reputation as an orthodox Bible teacher,” Deacon Jones said. “But you know, He’s given me new gifts. He’s sent me into all the world…. Everything He has asked for, He has returned.”
Today, Deacon Jones frequently speaks at Catholic conferences and retreats. He shares with others the beauty of living with radical faith in Christ.
